Protecting Lives and the Environment in Riga and Turin
Training package modules
The 5G4LIVES Training Package is a practical, video-based learning series that turns project experience into clear, reusable guidance for cities, civil protection teams and other stakeholders. Across four modules, it explains what the pilots solve, how the 5G-enabled drone service works in practice, how results are measured, and what public authorities should consider when planning real-world adoption and replication beyond Riga and Turin.
Module 1: Foundations of 5G4LIVES and Emergency Response Innovation
This module gives a clear, non-technical introduction to what 5G4LIVES is and why it matters for public safety. It explains how 5G connectivity and drones can support emergency teams with faster incident detection and better situational awareness. You’ll also get a practical overview of the Riga and Turin pilots to understand the real-world problems the project tackles and what “good” looks like in operations.
Module 2: Building the System – Technology and Operations
Module 3: Real-world Deployment and Measurable Impact
This module focuses on what happens when the system is used in real conditions—and how impact is measured. It showcases pilot deployments and introduces the project’s approach to KPIs and performance evaluation, including speed, reliability, coordination and usefulness of data. It also highlights sustainability and citizen-facing benefits—why this matters beyond the tech itself.
Module 4: Strategic Outlook and Policy Considerations
Module 4 looks forward: how to scale, replicate and govern 5G-enabled drone services responsibly across Europe. It covers the essentials of legal and ethical frameworks, trust and transparency, and what municipalities need to consider before long-term adoption. The module closes with practical takeaways to help decision-makers move from pilot thinking to sustainable implementation.
